7. Time Waits For Norman

Half-man, half-weasel Norman is adamant he was in New York rather than the Bishop’s Stortford branch of Wimpy, but a burger flipper insists he’s lying - and there’s photos to prove it.

Things go from bad to worse when a firework goes off in his face… or does it?

In an episode where nothing seems to add up, Maddie and Jonathan query how someone can do a return trip from NYC to eastern Hertfordshire in only a few hours.

We analyse the story, dig up some location information and track down some staggering real-world connections to details in the show.

Once again, long-dead William Topaz McGonagall (often described as the worst poet to have ever walked the earth) resurrects himself from the grave to watch the episode and pen some lines about it.

Time Waits For Norman was the second episode of the second series of Jonathan Creek, airing on 31st January 1998.

Written by David Renwick and directed by Sandy Johnson, guest stars included Dermot Crowley, Deborah Grant, Graham Bryan, Geoffrey McGivern and Edward Halsted.
